When things last longer than they should have (and that’s a good thing)…

Back in the year 2000 (sounds like a B-grade futuristic movie!) I went surfing with my uncle Ben at Evans Head and broke my tooth. Ok, so I broke it as I was putting my leg-rope on in waist-deep water: a tiny bit of frothy wave lightly pushed the board onto my mouth thus breaking my right top front tooth (which at first I thought felt like I had a bit of wax in my mouth or something…until the pain of the now-uncovered-nerve hit). Anyhoo, that’s not the point of the story!

So I was flossing last night when “twaing” out flies part the (thankfully) back part of this replacement tooth (a dentist in Brisvegas had done a beaut job at re-building the said tooth (well, he piled a bunch of white-filling on the end of the remaining bit and voilĂ !) and told me it should last 5 years). Evidently my mouth feels all weird now, having this sharp edged thing at the front of it, and yet when I smile you can’t tell that there’s chaos going on behind the seemingly (large) beautiful white (hum!) front teeth. I’ve been telling Candide that I needed to get to the dentist soon, I guess now it’ll be real soon. In any case I’m happy the dentist was wrong/right in his prediction: happy that it lasted almost 10 years and even happier that it did last at least 5!

Comments:
