a yoyo...? after thinking about the words of a dependent song (see post below), i thought a bit more about the yoyo. i guess a yoyo sums up my spiritual life, up and down, up and down. sometimes staying up, sometimes staying down, but always on the string. and whether it's up or down, it's always attached.
just as God is always part of us and us part of him, his Spirit is always in us, whether we feel it or not. whether we're up or down, in a low or on a high, we're always in his hand. sounds a bit cliche i know, but it certainly rings true for me!

so i was listening to dependent(RIP, boohoo!!!) the other day, loving it (as you do!). i picked up the guitar afterwards and worked out the chords for one of their songs! i'd been wanting to for years and finally i cracked it! as always twas the combination of fooling around, being shown new chords, trying new chords and putting different chords together, and then BANG, just like a puzzle you finish, it was there! bring it on...
here's the song, i think the words are great and really sum up my situation most of the time:
(title?)
sin, making it hard for me, living not as i ought to be,
a constant battle inside of me,i yearn inner purity.
Life, making hard for me, pride, deep within i see,
greed, take it away from me, Lord, i need you to help me.
So, come into me, cause i want to be set free,
oh, living right in this world, can be far,
too hard for me.
Round, a circle it seems to be, sin, it's up and it's down with me,
a yoyo am i becoming to be, not the way that i ought to be,
Then, the answer it came to me, you died to set me free,
died, to take my sins away, joy, joy where joy is me,
You, came into me, and from my sins, i've been set free,
oh, here, confined to this world, i'll be with you
eternally...

20 days left in this country...
wow, written like that it sounds really short!
a BIG THANK YOU to you who have made my stay here a real joy and to you who have kept your emails, letters and prayers coming from oz.
my heart is torn in two, catching up with so many friends and family back where the water goes down the drain clockwise will be tremendous joy, while leaving friends and family here will be soooooooooo sad(is there no better word??!).
thank you again and may God bless you all...

too much thought, especially bout nothing or trivial matters, leads to unhappiness and worry.
"blessed are the shallow..."(FrailJ.O.C.), how so very true! i never really understood these lyrics, but i now see that if you don't "over-think" about trivial matters you will be much happier and much more worry-free. there are enough things to worry about already without adding trivial worry!
when worrying, too often i forget to revert to prayer, and yet this is what we are told to do: "do not worry about anyhthing, instead pray about everything..."(Phil 4v7). in Mathew we're also told not to worry about anything, since we can't add a single day to our lives... and yet how i worry!
i can blame it on my situation, blame it on my job, blame it on my life or even blame it in my DNA...but when it comes down to it i'm the one doing the worrying! i guess it's a matter of habit:
if when i get up every day
i repeat those verses and pray
a change to a worry-less life
i will see and this with me will stay...
