Discoveries/things you find out when you’re sick in bed and have to stay indoors…

Why aren’t there more of these kinds of movies? Why had I never seen it before? How come it only got minimal publicity? I can’t answer any of these questions. I can say, however, that Secondhand Lions is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time. It was clean, funny, witty, dealt with serious issues, had a great story, superb actors, beautiful scenery and was brilliantly put together. I certainly would advocate that watching it is not a waste of time.

Ok. On other discoveries: Grisham. I’d never read any of his books before (being a male I was always scared by the sheer size of the things!), but as there were a few lying around the house here and I was in-between books, I thought I’d give one a go. The Appeal was a great read. I got a bit lost in the sea of new characters that seemed to appear every second chapter and become important and crucial to the plot(s), but that was mainly because I was only reading a few pages at a time at night. Until last night. I went to bed, picked the book up and just kept reading, anxious (yes, that’s the right word) to see what would happen and how it would all end. As the pages were flying by I couldn’t put it down, knowing that there had to be only a few chapters/pages left. I finally read the last lines, marvelled at the telling of such an intricate story, and turned the light off (which was a useless, as my thoughts were racing too much for me to settle down and find sleep, despite the small hand pointing towards 3…).
