Music and memories.

Isn’t it amazing how certain tunes bring you back to a definite time/place in the past? I had some music on shuffle this morning while reading and the track At the river came on (it’s a great electronic/chill/trip-hop kinda song we used to play at the Close on Sat or Sunday mornings over a leisurely breakfast).

BANG! Just like that I was transported back to an early, warm, sunny spring morning, walking along the newly redone foreshore of Newcastle harbour, sometime last year. The sky was blue, the water green, you could hear the seagulls and boats coming in the harbour, the sun was already hot and there was that soft, cool wind blowing. The crazy thing is that I never actually listened to that track while walking along the harbour, so I must have been thinking about it or have just heard it in the car B4 I got out… In any case, the memories that track instantly brought back were so vivid it was incredible!
