Sunday, March 11
so i had a kinda farewell/commisioning service in the form of a great BBQ at the Lucas' (thanks so much guys for putting me up and organising this...the turn out was unreal!). tons of friends turned up and it was a great time to catch uyp, share and eat. At about 10:30pm, once most people had left, a few of us decided to do something fun before heading to bed. Tom (THE Tom from tenwithtom.com), Stittman, Tall, Sarah, Mel, John and myself decided to go have a bit of fireball soccer action.
for those of you who aren't familiar wit this, you soak a tight ball of material (kots on knots on knots) in kero, light it and kick/throw/roll it.
we headed into the Susie Gilmore beach (one of Newcastle's more secluded beaches). we walked down the path in a bright half moon and kicked the fire ball around for a while (until John kicked it in the water). we got it going again and sent huge flashes of light (from the ball of flames) shooting up the cliff. it was a great time, good fun and a fantastic way to spend my last few hours in australia.
i got back to Lucas', packed my carry on luggage (which took an hour) and got to bed about 2:15am.
up at 5, brekkie, some quick good byes and off to Sydney with bake and doorbell.
i'm now waiting for boarding and thought i'd send one last aussie update! so long friends, it's been great (and is great) to have you as friends. "we'll meet again, dunno where, dunno when, but i know we'll meet again, some sunny day..."

Ah Beak. Good times! Happy memories. Hope you have a safe journey and France finds you well. Hope to see you again in one of these hemispheres. Till then, MSN, Skype and Blogger will make this world a smaller place I'm sure. Mr T.
