sobering.
i've been following, with interest, the adventures of Andrew McAuley. he set out about 5 weeks ago to cross the Tasman, the ocean between australia and new zealand. the last i read on his site, his family were waiting for him, as he was only a couple of days (100km) off shore. it appears they have now recovered his kayak but not Andrew himself. it's amazing to have got that far, and i can't believe he's now disappeared. my prayers and thoughts are with his family...
