I don’t usually get political on this site, as I try to offer people a bit of comic relief in this sad and serious world we live in. I believe today calls for it, though.

Australia has just overturned the ban on the cloning of human embryos for stem cell research, making it legal to do so. It’s times like these that I am ashamed of being Australian. As for Johnny’s quote, I couldn’t agree more. John Howard often gets a bad wrap for what he says or does and I can’t say that I agree with him or support him in everything he does.  But I want to commend him for taking that position and for voting against this decision. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the power to keep the law as it was. The ban got lifted, 82 votes to 62. I guess the next step is to clone people for spare parts…
