So I took a group of school kids to the RAAF base on Monday. They were the ones selected to go and hang out with one of the pilots (he had come to the school to talk about how you need to hold onto your dream and work towards it if you wanted to make it a reality, which is what he did, even though he wasn’t good at school he is now one of the elite F-18 pilots). We went round the base, checked out the planes, walked around them, stood on one, looked inside one and… then flew one! (a hornet) I actually got to fly to Sydney, turn over the harbour bridge (at 1000ft) and zoom through the down town sky scrapers doing a roll. I then went up into a “dead leaf” at 20 000ft, regained control and landed at Sydney international. It was unbelievable…Simulators are great!
