I recently got the comment “do you do anything apart from ride your bike?” well of course I do! here’s a run down of a typical day and of a week end:

5:50am: get up. Eat. Read, reflect and journal.

7 am: go to school (usually takes me 15 minutes).

7:30-8:05 check who’s online, think about the day and about my students, get dressed and ready to hit the day.

8:05-8:30 devotions and staff announcements.

School goes til 3:30, I sometimes work til 4 or 5.

4-5:30pm: get home and either shower, eat, play guitar, relax and go to bed, or write reports or go for a ride (especially if a race is coming up), go bouldering (climbing) at adam’s place, go to home group at baker’s or go grocery shopping (especially if it’s Thursday night). I usually try to hit the sack before 9:30pm.

On the week end I usually go for a big ride on sat, go play a sport with mates, sleep in, do something with friends and try to relax. Sat is my “day off”

Sunday morning I go to Church, usually as a drummer or singer or guitar player. Then it’s lunch somewhere with someone and then chill in the arvo for a few hours. I then do some school work, have some dinner and dread going to bed (cause it means waking up Monday morning…).

Obviously some week ends are spent going climbing, going to a race or doing something else.

So there’s a typical week…only a bit of riding!

well now we know!! thanks, that's helpful.9.30 to bed!!? that's quite spectacularly early. You don't think you miss out on some quality time at the end of the day? Maybe I miss out on the other end!! I don't have to get up until 8.30am! I love my job!

yeah, quality time for me is pretty much non-existent in the evening... unless it gets real late, like past midnite, on a fri or sat night, then the quality seems to return. i usually try to pause and reflect before i hit the sack at night, but it's hard to stay awake...

sounds like a fairly balanced lifestyle!!!!!

yeah well a good friend once told me it was about balance...i now tell a lot of people that myself! thanks bro... "moderation in everything...including moderation" ;)
