so we took 10 school kids for a 3 day walk in the blue mountains this week (silver assessed duke of edinburgh expedition). fantastic! it rained on and off, which was a blessing, cause it wasn't too hot, it made the colours so vibrant and fresh and it is a rare opportunity in this country (as opposed to other countries i've walked in!). i finished packing at 2:30am due to the gig i went to the night before, so when my alarm went off at 5:20 i was a little tired! we caught the 6:30am and got to leura at 11am. after a coffee we walked along a 4wd track and eventually down the 2000ft drop into the valley. the next day was cruisy and the 3rd day was the walk out...back up the 2000ft up a different canyon. it was a pretty cool walk, cause we "followed the kids", or at least didn't tell them where to go. it was a great walk, but my legs got a little sore! check out the new photos on flickr
