What is it with strings, minor chords, emotional music and
nostalgia? I have my puda playin music on random and it?s just
chucked some emotional Moby at me.
The wind is howling, the sun setting, I just said good-bye to
my parents who are heading back up the coast and I?m left alone with
marking to do. And suddenly I?m reminiscing about France, Norn Iron
and friends there. I?m feeling quite nostalgic (a happy word for
sad?) and suddenly wanting to email, no, chat to, no, phone all my
friends in distant places. All I want to do is hop on a plane that
will take me into the setting sun across the sea to the emerald isle
or the French alps?
still wondering whether to go to France (to live/work) or
not it?s moments like these that make me want to be there. The
thought of the summer camps going ahead and all those French kids,
all the beauty and all the good times?and after listening to
Coldplay?s new twist
ed logic it?s onto Ben Folds 5 brick?is my party
shuffle set to nostalgic-sun-setting-reflective-memory-moods or
what??? I also realise that seeing Le tour de France daily on TV
(especially when stage 3 or 4 went past the region I grew up in?)
has reignited my fire for that country?are you joking me?? i-tunes
has just decided to play What if I do? one of the new acoustic
tracks on FF?s In Your Honor?unbelievable! By the way I totally
recommend this album, the rocky stuff is pretty cool but the
acoustic/ballady songs are incredible! So much passion and emotion
has gone into them?and that track Dave Grohl sings with Nora Jones
is just delightful?plus it?s a good one to play on the ol? guitar..
so anyway I?m lovin? this moment of solitude, even if it
feels a little lonely right now, I hold onto it knowing that with
school going back soon and all I won?t be getting many opportunities
for such blessed tim
es?as I sign off psalm 67 just came on (may the
peoples praise you) off Sons of Korah?s new album Resurrection,
