another day another 8 hour event...
so we drove down in my "new" van aka the guzzler (uses fuel like it was free...) to the southern highlands, an hour south of sydney. i haven't seen so many stars in a while! unreal!!
the race was cool (about 5-10 degrees cooler than newcastle), dry (oh so dusty!!) and niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. the track was a good mix of sweeeeeeet single track in pine forest (with nice downhills, crankin up hills and smooth flat sections with log hops, steps, rocks...) and fire trails climbs and links. great riding! my drive train played up a bit, threw me off once, and i bent my seat clamp screw (the same one i broke 2 years ago comin home from work one rainy chilly night in norn iron, recking my lights, tearing my shirt and bloodying my knee, shoulber and leg). adam, my team mate, snapped his rear derailleur drop out. apart from that a good race, very tiring but oh so rewarding...we came about middle of the pack (25th? out of about 40- 2 man teams) adding about 75 more points to theseries scoring. bring on the next one in newcastle...
