So we (3 adults and 12 kids) headed off into the wilderness 2 hrs from newie for some silver walks (with the Duke of Edinburgh). Remote is a good word to describe the spot. We drove to a look out and as far as we could see in any direction (360 degrees) the only human feature was a electricity pole on the horizon, 50 kms away?? Nothing but bush, hills and animals. Blue sky, slight wind and sunshine. Amazing. We did a few good walks around mt Yengo (a sacred Aboriginal mountain, which being sacred is not to be summitted) and the kids got a good idea of what it was all about. The nights were chili… -5 degrees at 6:30 am…pretty cold for most of em. As for myself I was as snug as a bug in a rug. Bring on some more…next week end I have another walk, this time with bronzes…
