never ever seen nottin like it!!!
so there we were, Tom (my brillian flatmate...check out sandgate rd blog) and I, sunday evening, sittin on da couch, slammin down pizza (supreme meat), watchin a wildlife reporter chick tell how she got her leg bitten in half by a hippo (that's what you gotta expect when you swim in their rivers...). a storm started, so i went out and watched the beast, lightning, wind, heavy heavy rain and hail. i called tom out and we stood on da front verranda in awe. tom got his rain jacket (we were gettin semi wet in the doorway). i then got mine, followed by my waterproof pants (that's trousers for you UK people) and looked at tom who gave me a "bboouuuyaahhh"!! and that settled it, we were out in da street, or should i say in da river out the front of da house, bathed in ice and water, occasionally screamin cause of large sharp pieces of ice striking our heads, arms, feet...unbelievable!!!! we were out for about half an hour and then headed back on da verranda and just watched for another 20mins, while it just kept going, gale force, snow-like ice smashing on the ground (or cars, or windows or whatever stood in its way). B-E-A-UTIFUL!!!
so i head to work this morn (in the rain, which had calmed down) and through the uni (closed cause of water damage) and what do i see, 1-2 ft worth of ice piled up against trees that the wind had blown! unreal!!
bring it on!!
kinda reminded me somewhat of my birthday last year at spinkwee river in da mournes in norn iron...except not as heavy and cold. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i love rain!
