Mt VISO, Italy, 3841m. marc and i went and climbed it. in a few words: grueling, hard, long and superb.
we got up at 3:30 am and left the refuge at 4, hitting the summit at 11am (after being off-route a couple of times), elevation gain: 1350m. we descended and were back at the refuge for 4pm and back to the car by 7:30pm. total walking/climbing: 15hours.
sooooooooo long, hard and painful, but what a view! i had a little head-ache but marc was on stage 1 of acute altitude sickness with nosea, tiredness and incoherance, so the down climb was sketchy at times and quite slow...(the 3 hour scramble is quite exposed and a little scary and demanding, obviously going down is a little worse).
i hope the photos turn out!
