another day another 8 hour race...this time it was on my home turf, a beautiful singke track (mostly) 12kms (7 miles?) long, winding in and out of the forest and hills... superb, it was actually enjoyable, even when i was in pain! 280+ riders, i rode with a friend in a 2 man team "the underdawgs" and we came 6th out of 37 (in our category). so wasn't too bad...i hit a tree in the last minute of the last lap, very sore shoulder! i also came off on landing a jump, very messy but suprisingly minimal pain (twas a nice double which i'd nailed heaps of times before but for some reason (tiredness) i ate dirt...). i won't talk about raw backsides or chaffage...but after a bath with eucalyptus oil and bicarb soda, i feel much better, though all my muscles are sore. wow, what a track! thanks to my family and heather for coming out and supporting me.
