here's a good one i read in the in-flight magazine on the plane coming back from istanbul (writing in brackets, bold and italics mine):
"Roughly 70,000 years ago(give or take a couple of years) the number of homo sapiens was reduced to a mere 2000 due to epidemics and environmental catastrophies(not cause it started with a small number. scientific research (of course!!)has shown(proven, without a doubt, it's fact...) that the earth's population of 6 billion people shares an almost identical DNA stock. however, this would only be possible if, at some stage long ago, the genetic variants among human populations were radically reduced. the 2000 people can be traced back to the ancestors of contemporary bushmen and pigmies(phew, that's a relief!). those who eventually populated the earth were separated from their tribes."
