Mournes R us
last thursday (my birthday!!)pete and I went walking in the mournes (from donard park to spink wee river), where we met up with charlie and camped the night. we built a fire almost in the middle of the river, due to strong winds and sheltered spot, under a big tree. we had some dinner and sat round the fire. it started raining and we were just sitting, talking and singing, getting wet. at 11pm ish johny arrived (after walking in the dark, wet and windy forest to a place he wasn't sure of) with some supplies. it was a superb night, we were getting soaked but couldn't do anything about it so didn't care and really enjoyed it!
The next day charlie and i walked up slieve commodah(spelling??) and back down to donard park to meet pete who'd gone via tollymore forest. a majassive contrast to the previous day, with sun and blue sky. charlie and i got burnt, but what a view!!
it was a superb time of chatting, walking and enjoying God's amazing creativity and beauty. we were able to experience all types of weather (except for snow!) and be reminded of his great diversity. be-autiful!!
